Refuse Single Use

For my Science Communication elective, we were tasked to create a press conference to promote an event of our choice. My group decided to create a campaign that would advocate conscious consumption of plasticWhile my groupmates focused on the research component, I was tasked to create collaterals for the event.

As an exercise, I challenged myself to create a branding scheme for the event. From here, conceptualised the idea of drawing the line against single-use plastics.

Logo. The logo is meant to emphasise the idea of drawing the line by striking a line against "single use." The emphasis is on the refusal of creating unnecessary waste. The font choices show a contrast between a more welcoming,hand-written style, and a sturdier, cold style, to show that while single-use plastics are made by corporation, we as a people can choose to refuse this. The colours were chosen to appeal young audiences because the campaign would be aimed at students.
Pattern. Additional brand elements were created again with the idea of "drawing the line." Nature elements were added to emphasise that this campaign is for the betterment of the environment.
Publication materials. For the press conference, a press release design was created as an invitation to the media. Additional posters and infographics were also created to further promote the campaign and provide a sound background on the campaign.
